Oktave-Märtchen 2019
From 11 to 26 May 2019, the traditional Octave Market will be held in Luxembourg City on Place Guillaume II and Place de la Constitution.
Oktavmäertchen is the traditional market that originated in the Octave, a religious festival to honour the Virgin Mary who is the patron saint of the city and the Grand Duchy. Every year around Pentecost, pilgrims from all over the country and the Greater Region come to Luxembourg City.
Accessibility for people with reduced mobility to the various premises of the Octave market will be guaranteed by external ramps set up by the fairground workers. WCs, including a WC adapted to people with special needs, will be installed on Place Guillaume II: they will be open to the public during the opening hours of the stands and restaurants. A WC for people with special needs will also be set up on the Place de la Constitution (key to be collected at the "Lounge Bar" or in the toilet room located on the Place de la Constitution). In addition, the toilets located at the Cercle Cité, the "Knuedler" car park and on Place de la Constitution will be accessible throughout the opening of the Octave market until 10:30 pm.
